‘After Lot had departed, the LORD said to Abram, “Now lift up your eyes from the place where you are and look to the north and south and east and west, for all the land that you see, I will give to you and your offspring forever.’ Genesis 13:14,15
Lot had chosen for himself the well-watered plains of Jordan to the East, and left Abram in the land of Canaan. The Lord waited until Lot departed to renew His promise to Abram.
This painting speaks into the redemption of God’s promises. Lift your eyes to what God has ahead for you, and do not compare yourself with where your brothers are or with what they have chosen. Let yourself be fully satisfied with the path the Lord has chosen for you, for only He knows what blessings are possible. Let your thirst be fully quenched by His living waters. ‘Lift up your eyes from the place where you are.’
